National Entrepreneurship Network
The non-profit National Entrepreneurship Network was established in 2003 with a mission to create and support high-growth entrepreneurs, driving job-creation and economic growth. Today, NEN represents the largest, most vibrant community of India's new and future entrepreneurs. Its membership comprises:
- More than 500 top-tier academic institutes across India,
- A motivated pool of over 1100 entrepreneurship faculty members,
- Over 380 student Entrepreneurship Cells that count more than 70,000 members, and
- Thousands of NEN Alumni, now coming together to launch NEN E Clubs
Leveraging the resources and programs of the NEN Trust, these members - the NEN institutes, faculty, ECells, and E Clubs – each year run thousands of programs that create and support entrepreneurs. NEN was initiated by the Wadhwani Foundation, and co-founded by IIT Bombay; IIM Ahmedabad; BITS, Pilani; SP Jain Institute of Management & Research, Mumbai; and the Institute of Bioinformatics and Applied Biotechnology, Bangalore.
The Wadhwani Foundation's mission is to help individuals reach their full potential, regardless of background. The foundation invests in non-profit programs to accelerate entrepreneurship – a critical driver of growth and value creation. The foundation's efforts will inspire, educate and support entrepreneurs, and help create an environment in which individuals from all backgrounds can succeed. Founded and funded by Romesh Wadhwani, a serial entrepreneur and also currently the founder CEO of Symphony Technology Group, the Wadhwani Foundation is working to accelerate entrepreneurship in emerging economies.

Our mission to foster innovation & entrepreneurship has created real value in building new enterprises around the world. The Chennai Fund
The Chennai Fund is a fund facilitated to help and encourage Chennai based entrepreneurs in early stage funding and mentoring. Currently the fund has 11 investors. Villgro (Formerly Rural Innovations Network)
Villgro started its operations in 2000. Villgro operates in the space to empower rural development by actively identifying and incubating innovations that positively impact the rural poor to see the light of day.
Over these 9 years, Villgro has grown from mere sponsors of innovation to a community that understands the rural people, its environment & its willingness to take technology to the rural users.
With Villgro's support, the rural population has seen technological advancement and development processes that have been profitable along with empowering them. NASSCOM was set up in 1988, at Mumbai to facilitate business and trade in software and services and to encourage advancement of research in software technology. It is a not-for-profit organization, registered under the Indian Societies Act, 1860. Currently, NASSCOM is headquartered in New Delhi, India with regional offices in the cities of Mumbai, Chennai, Hyderabad, Bangalore, Kolkata and Pune.
Proto.in is the biggest event in the Start-up Calendar where experts from across the country choose 15 of India's hottest start-ups from across sectors. These 15 start-ups are provided with a platform to showcase themselves to an audience which comprises of investors, corporates and entrepreneurs alike. The event is attended by over 400 people and has seen 7 editions - in Chennai, Delhi, Pune, Bangalore and Mumbai. Apart from the event, Proto.in has also sparked of other initiatives like Open Coffee Club - an open forum where entrepreneurs come together to discuss burning issues, Startup Jobs - a forum for recruiting employees to start-ups and Startup Chat - an online chat where start-ups come together to network.
Started in November 2006, the Mumbai Angels is a unique forum where its members may interact and exchange ideas and knowledge. The Mumbai Angels provides a unique platform to start up and very early stage companies by bringing them face to face with successful entrepreneurs, professionals and executives who are interested in and have the funds available to invest in start up companies.
Many members of Mumbai Angels have prior Silicon Valley experience. In addition to the capital of its members, the Mumbai Angels provides access to high quality mentoring, vast networks in India and abroad and inputs on strategy as well as execution.
Indian Angel Network
Indian Angel Network is a network of Angel investors keen to invest in early stage businesses which have potential to create disproportionate value. The members of the Network are leaders in the Entrepreneurial Eco-System as they have had strong operational experience as CEOs or a background of creating new and successful ventures. They share a passion to create scale and value for startup ventures.
Indian Angel Network believes that early stage businesses require more than just money to succeed. They require close mentoring and inputs on strategy as well as execution. New Ventures India
New Ventures India, a joint initiative of CII- Sohrabji Godrej Green Business Centre, Hyderabad and the World Resources Institute, Washington D.C., aims to be the premier business accelerator in the Green Business Space. The initiative was established and supported by USAID under the Global Development Alliance. The programme is currently supported by British High Commission under the Strategic Programme Fund (SPF), USDoS under the Asia Pacific Partnership (APP) programme and Citi Foundation. Our mission is to match scalable green business opportunities with skills, talent, technology, markets and money. The focus areas include Renewable Energy, Energy Efficiency, Clean Technology, Sustainable Agriculture, Green Building Materials, Recycling, Water Technologies and Eco Tourism.
JA India is a member of Junior Achievement Worldwide. Making its beginning in September 2006, JA India commenced classroom operations in January 2007. Since then, it is growing stronger each day, and is already present in more than 200 institutions reaching out to more than 30,000 students in Bangalore, Chennai, Delhi, Mumbai, Hyderabad and Chandigarh.

DARE is a media platform for the Indian Entrepreneur and the Entrepreneurial Ecosystem. Dare IS NOT just a business magazine. EDI (Entrepreneurship Development Institute of India)
Entrepreneurship Development Institute of India (EDI), a wholly autonomous and not-for-profit institute, set up in 1983, is sponsored by apex financial institutions; the IDBI Bank Ltd., IFCI Ltd., ICICI Bank Ltd. and State Bank of India (SBI). The Government of Gujarat pledged twenty-three acres of land on which stands the majestic and sprawling EDI campus.
EDI's pioneering activities in entrepreneurship development training have established that people from all walks of life can become business owners. It has demolished the myth that entrepreneurs are born, and cannot be made. Through well-conceived training interventions and capacity building activities, over last 25 years, EDI has equipped thousands of people with entrepreneurial skills. To pursue its mission further, EDI has helped set up twelve state-level exclusive entrepreneurship development centres and institutes.
The HeadStart Network is a not-for-profit organization run by volunteers and full time professionals to create and promote the innovation ecosystem in India. We define the innovation ecosystem as consisting of entrepreneurs and startups, researchers in academia and industry, adopters of new technology and products, and investors.
Headquartered in Bangalore but carrying out activities in Mumbai, Hyderabad, Ahmedabad and Delhi (with Pune, Kolkata, Chennai to be added in 2009), the HeadStart Network is led by a team of 16 founders who are a mix of entrepreneurs, academics and industry professionals.
